Following Jesus might just be the hardest and most blessed thing we’ll ever do. My testimony of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Where do I begin and where do I end? There is so much to tell, so much that’s been learned and so much yet to learn. I’ll begin backContinue reading “Mona Brown Bates”

I’m 43 years old, and I left Mormonism two years prior. My doubts started when I was about 18 or 19 when I heard a youth speaker say in her talk that “we’d all be gods and goddesses one day.” I thought, “What kind of crack are her parents smoking?” I had a big problemContinue reading “Kristin F.”

My exodus started with a trip to the temple in 1979. I came home and started reading the Bible to figure out who this God is that would have us saying and promising such stuff. Then I read No Man Knows My History by Fawn Brodie. Next came Mountain Meadows Massacre. Also during this process, IContinue reading “Karen Leonard”

I grew up as a traditional Christian. But when I turned 16, I hit a rough patch in my life. It caused my Mormon friends to start talking to me about their beliefs. I felt so alone and without purpose. I had no self-esteem. So when I was told that God had re-established his churchContinue reading “Kenyon Birdwell”

I wasn’t as deeply LDS as others, but it definitely shaped who I was and my relationship with God. My mom was LDS but my dad was an unbeliever. He was an alcoholic who would become abusive when drinking. This created a big wound for me being rejected by him, and I never felt worthy ofContinue reading “Heather Bundy”

I had 40 years of TBM-appearing membership, but was always wary of polygamy, becoming gods, and blacks being less valiant and denying them temple/priesthood privileges. 30 years of despising Joseph Smith after reading Sacred Loneliness. 28 years of knowing BoM was false after reading Simon Southerton’s letter about his DNA quest. 25 years sickened by theContinue reading “Barbara Hoggan”

I was born and raised Mormon. I left when I was 16. I never really liked going there, so one day I snuck away and googled, “Is Mormonism true?” I truly thought the whole time that the problem had been me and that I was rotten and forsaken by God. I believed that my searchContinue reading “Abigail Dove”

My husband was born and raised LDS. He served in the Tucson, Arizona Mission, while I was a convert. A very committed convert. We met and dated and got married in the Draper Temple. I was raised Southern Baptist and I missed Jesus, but I also thought I had more of Jesus in the LDS church. WhenContinue reading “Alayna Hannon”
